SURVIVAL AND WET DRILL INSTRUCTOR COURSE

The course covers all regulatory requirements for flight crew and cabin crew survival and wet drill practical training as detailed in Part CC (cabin crew initial training), AMC1 ORO.FC.220(c)(vii)(viii),230(2)(F), AMC1 ORO.CC.125(c),(b)(2),(d),140(c)(iv)

Course Aim
This one-day course is intended for instructors to be able to carry out survival theoretical training and practical wet drill, in a safe environment with confidence and competence.

Course Objectives
By the end of the course you will be able to:

 

  • Know the survival and wet drill training legislative requirements for flight crew and cabin crew 

  • Describe the principles of survival, the dangers of different survival climates, the will to survive

  • Know how human behaviour affects the way we manage survival situations

  • Review and expand knowledge of survival equipment including use of pyrotechnics

  • Review survival incidents and lessons learnt

  • Describe the role of the rescue services, how they operate and which organisations are involved 

  • Brief and learn the health and safety requirements for setting up and conducting practical wet drill training

  • Brief and conduct effective and realistic practical wet drill exercises in the pool

  • Instruct and support delegates to complete the exercises competently

  • Use all training equipment effectively
